ARRON COOPER

ARRON COOPER

Arron Cooper is a talented artist who spends his time developing new techniques and styles of painting his unique art work. Arron’s art is greatly centered around portrait work, often working on self-portraits. He quotes, “I don’t really know why I use myself as a subject, I think it’s my way of trying to find myself.” Arron is also a keen photographer and has plans to work his photographs into his paintings, by using the photograph as a background and painting his subjects on top. This style has a very interesting flare as there is a fine contrast between the sharp detailed photograph and the bold, strokes of his painting style. Aside from his portraits, Arron has been working on images of a deeper meaning, one of my personal favorites is a painting of hands holding a piece of string, this is a metaphor for life, how each person holds their own lives in their own hands and how no one knows how long that life will be.

Among others Lucian Freud has been a great inspiration to Arron’s work however Arron would like to discover his own style and not let too many outside influences affect his work. In discovering himself he also hopes to uncover his own unique style and movement so that he knows his work is truly his own and can be as original as possible.

Arron’s goal in his young art career is to have the people who view his work get a feeling from his paintings, good or bad he would like to generate some emotion from his work and hopefully have people understand him through his work.

Arron has one more year to carry out at Inverness College and hopes to continue into his degree at Elgin College. Once he has gained his degree Arron hopes to become an art teacher, he would like to inspire and help new artists find their own unique style.
